ACM Elections

It is almost the end of our terms as E-Board members of the ACM Club. We will
be holding elections very soon and need nominations for new people to fill these positions.

Please make sure to fill out the nomination form for new potential E-Board members.

If you have trouble viewing or submitting this form, you can fill it out online:

Please submit your nominations in the form and select the position you
are nominating the person for (note you may also nominate yourself). We will
be holding elections sometime in the middle of April. The term for the newly
elected E-Board will begin on May 1st, 2012 and end on April 30th, 2013.

Buffalo OpenCoffee Club

Buffalo OpenCoffee Club is having their first meetup on UB grounds. The meetup will take place from 6 to 8PM on Wednesday, February 8 in Davis 338A.

According to Dan Magnuszewski: the meetups are informal and without an agenda; people show up and talk about what they do, what they are working on, topics they need help with, general tech and entrepreneurial news, and so on.

It would be a great way to get involved with the Buffalo, and global, tech industry.

I hope to see you tomorrow

General Interest Meeting

We will be holding a general interest meeting this week.

When: Tuesday (1/31) @ 6PM, Wednesday (2/1) @ 6PM
Where: Davis 338 A

This semester we are continuing to focus on learning outside of the classroom.  This means we plan on having seminars, events and projects focusing on what you want to learn!  At the meeting we will discuss:

–Bus tracking project – A system to (potentially) watch the UB stampede as it is in route
–UB Hacking – An all night coding event with free giveaways and prizes
–Mock technical interviews – An event to help prep students going into technical interviews
–Seminar Series – A series of seminars covering things such as: Android, Python, PHP, etc.
