Minutes for 09-26-2006

1. Call to Order
This was our first tutorial of the semester, covering AJAX. This tutorial ran from 7:00PM to 8:00PM in Bell 242 Conference room. This tutorial was done by Rehman and Hung on Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX).

2. Tutorial details

• AJAX - meaning, relationship, and usefulness towards today website design
• Web based technology developed due to AJAX
• Example of AJAX from popular websites such as: Google, Yahoo
• Example of a small web application with source code
• Frameworks and other technology built ontop of AJAX
• Pros/Cons of AJAX, and ways to avoid some AJAX problems
